Borehole Seismic Imaging
Single and multi-azimuth walkaway VSP lines allow for multi-directional 2D subsurface imaging away from the monitor well. Walkaway imaging is a useful tool for development drilling exploration/exploitation and reservoir surveillance.
Similar to incident VSPs, Reservoir Imaging's large arrays can save time and money when performing a walkaway VSP. Every array move during a zero-offset VSP is time and money lost, and that is exponentially increased as the walkaway survey increases in size. Through utilization of large array architectures, Reservoir Imaging has the tools necessary to provide maximum efficiency.
Note: Typical geophone array for a walkaway VSP ranges from 40 to 100 levels.
